Events aren't as simple as "spawning headcrabs", as should be evident by previous events. This, in particular, is a pretty major misconception with regards to how our event-management suite works. This applies to other senior members of the event team. An argument could be raised that if, for example, I do not have enough time to carry out event-related duties, then I shouldn't hold my position of community manager, however, it isn't quite as simple as that. A lot of our staff remain busy between their real-world obligations and impulse duties alike. It is not the case that I or the other event directors do not want to work on events, it is often simply a case of not having the time to do it. Typically speaking people do not have the time to develop events, or are uninterested. Staff are (and always have been since I've been CM) able to develop their own events and present them to an event director for review. This isn't something we apply restrictions to. All staff members are offered the opportunity to use the event management tool with full access to it on the development server.
